Oriel Ministries has always had a heart to see the lives of young people transformed by the message of Hope of Jesus. We have invested in so many ways to reach the young people based here in the South West from schools work, events, conferences, girls only groups, boys groups, after schools drop in clubs and outreach with the Pulse Bus. But we know there is still so much need for us to do more and to work closely with our partners, trusts and faithful supporters to enable Oriel to facilitate the work.

Over the years Oriel has taken many twists and turns as the vision has adapted to the pandemic, staffing and current economic situations. We are now in a place which is so exciting as we are seeing God reveal our next steps in how the ministry will not only outreach and share the Gospel but build long lasting relationships with the parents and younger children with the hope that they will climb through the stages into their young teen lives through our various projects and events. The dream would be that we see whole families coming to faith and being strong lifelong disciples of Jesus.

Three-Stage Mission Map

To broaden our reach and strengthen the partnerships with churches, we have developed a three-stage mission map that meets young people in three key aspects of their lives: school, community, and church. By bringing young people into each stage, we ensure we are an overlapping presence in these key areas so that young people witness that we are there to support them, journey with them, and guide them through their challenges with the main aim of sharing the Good News of Jesus. Our key initiatives fall within this three-stage framework, ensuring that young people have access to the right support at each stage of their journey: SEE IMAGE

By 2028 we would like to have in place;

• Sound of Hope and Ground Zero having 2 creative teams sharing faith and battling the issues young people face in the schools across Cornwall and Devon

• The Pulse Bus being actively used by schools, after school programs, events and one off days and going out to multiple locations on a weekly basis

• Base Camp Events increasing to monthly to continue the work of planting the seeds

• Monthly Summit Events in order to keep the

2028 NEXT BIG PROJECT

The next is the biggest vision which we hope with you support will come into fruition in the next couple of years.

Over the last couple of years Oriel has put on specialised events for families, catering for the younger children from tots to young primary and their parents. We never thought it would take off but the feedback was overwhelming and the need for something to support these families was made so apparent. After much seeking and praying we feel that Oriel could become a ‘community hub’ where we not only cater for the young people from year 3 onwards but for parents and their younger children. Having a place where they can bring their children and know they are safe and being looked after through our various sensory play and soft play and trained staff but also have a beautiful bespoke coffee shop where they can relax, meet and chat with other parents and the team who are there to support and help where needed and link to other support agencies.

This is a massive vision for Oriel to undertake and would need an immense financial injection – but we trust and believe that this is what the town of Launceston needs and where God is leading.
