Shake Shop has been running since 2019 following visits into the local college in Launceston and seeing a need for the young people to have a base that would facilitate their needs, be a safe place and an enjoyable experience. Somewhere where they can grab a bite to eat and milkshake whilst playing on the Xboxes, being creative on our craft zone, pampering themselves, or just simply hanging out with our trained staff. Each club follows themes and will have a very short 5 minute discussion on topics these youngsters are facing such as; identity and image, friendship and relationships, family and schooling, respect, self-worth and bringing in the Christian message of Jesus and how faith can impact your life and the choices you make.
Shake Shop has a team of trained leaders who will supervise all activities and children attending and are all DBS trained and certified. Parents will be asked to fill out a form of consent which is also available to download (any problems with the £1 entry please state on your form as we can cover your Childs costs)

“I first started on the Pulse Bus in January when it was parked in the local Co-op carpark. It’s cool, like a youth club on wheels. I love the free hot chocolates! The youth workers on the bus really help me. When I’m feeling sad, they cheer me up, like when my cat was hit by a reckless driver. They help me fix my emotions and keep them under control.
I kept hearing my friends talk about Shake Shop so I came along in March to see what it was like. Wow! Shake Shop is amazing. I like the talks. They have helped me consider my decisions differently, so I don’t have to battle my problems. I also like being quiet sometimes so things like the art help with my anxiety.”

“I knew about Shake Shop long before I came. I wanted to come so badly and since starting, I’ve only missed one session. I love it so much!
I love meeting new people; I love how the staff talk to me and how I can talk to them. I feel like I belong here and that I’m liked. I’ve introduced Shake Shop and the Pulse Bus to my friends at school.Since coming, I’m livelier, I feel I can be myself here. It’s cool how people open up an lot more round here. The talks are important because you can learn more about life, learn to be kinder and stuff like that.”
